3 Perfections : Chinese Painting, Poetry and Calligraphy


Born in Shanghai, Mr. Zhang was educated at the Shanghai Fine Arts Institute under Master Artist, Sheng Shi-jia.

He has in-depth knowledge of Chinese painting and calligraphy and is interested in presenting to Western viewers the special characteristics of this traditional art with an emphasis on poetic sentiment.

Mr. Zhang has work exhibited in many corporate offices and galleries. He is enthusiastic about spreading the traditional Chinese brush work technique and has been engaged in teaching for many years at the University of Minnesota and in his studio.




Trained in traditional western style painting, Ms. Weber is now studying Chinese Brush work with master painter/calligrapher, Hong Zhang.

After 20 years as an illustrator, she is interested in the creative possibilities of combining the two very different disciplines. She knows the power of the single, perfect brushstroke.

She has become captivated by the "picturesque" writing, realizing that a person does not have to know Chinese to understand the language of Chinese art.
